HAPPY FROG® POTTING SOIL

In the Spirit of the Humboldt Nation

Since ancient times, frogs have been symbols of rebirth and renewal. Chinese legend tells of Ch’an Chu, the toad who knew the secret of eternal life. In Native American lore, the frog is the protector of the waterways. There’s a reason that frogs hold such a powerful place in mythology: if you’ve ever walked along a river or through a damp forest, you know that frogs thrive in healthy habitats. When the frogs vanish, it is a sign that the forests and streams are in trouble. That’s why we named our potting soil Happy Frog®. The very life cycle of a frog reminds us of the promise of spring: a slippery brown tadpole transforms itself into a glorious, glistening creature that travels between the twin realms of water and earth, and leaps into the sky out of pure joy. Embrace the vitality of Happy Frog®!

Don’t Treat You Soil Like Dirt®

Happy Frog® Potting Soil is amended with soil microbes. These little guys help improve root efficiency and encourage nutrient uptake. That’s why we never steam sterilize our soils.

Our craftsmanship shows in the finely-screened forest products, bat guano and earthworm castings you’ll find in our mixes. Bat guano has been used for centuries as a fertilizer for all kinds of plants. Add earthworm castings and you have a nutrient-rich mix that can help your plants thrive.

EASY TO USE

Give your potted treasures the five-star treatment with Happy Frog® Potting Soil. Even the most discerning houseplants appreciate earthworm castings and finely-screened forest products. To get them settled in their new home, fill the bottom of the pot with Happy Frog® Potting Soil, gently position your little darling, and ease more potting soil around the sides. Your plants may not leave a tip, but trust me, they’ll find a way to show their appreciation.

Garden Veggies

Who says you can’t plant a kitchen garden in containers? Choose a container size large enough to accommodate those scrumptious full grown beauties. Remember not to overcrowd. Pot it up by placing enough soil to hold your veggies at the correct height. Gently secure those babies by pressing lightly around each plant. Water thoroughly, stand back and watch that zucchini crop!

Bless Your Blooms

Go ahead, be a show-off. Surround your porch and deck with all those luscious, high-maintenance flowers that make your neighbors jealous. Use Happy Frog® Potting Soil full-strength in planter boxes and hanging baskets. To jump-start existing planters, work in a 3-inch (7.5 cm) layer of potting soil around each plant. Our secret becomes your success- but don’t tell the neighbors, or pretty soon everybody will want some!

HAPPY FROG® Means NO Guesswork

Happy Frog® Potting Soil contains a carefully selected, custom blend of Mycorrhizal fungi. Mycorrhizae occur naturally in forest soils where the humus content is high and the soil is thriving with microbial life. Once in contact with the plant’s root system, mycorrhizae may colonize directly onto the roots, helping enhance root efficiency in the rhizosphere. This may enable the plant to take up more nutrients and resist stress, resulting in enhanced fruit and flower production.

Happy Frog® Potting Soil also contains Humic Acids, naturally occurring materials that are extracted from Leonardite. Humic Acids are found in certain soils, coals, and peat resulting from the decomposition of organics matter. Humic Acids may increase micronutrient uptake.

All FoxFarm products are grow tested in our greenhouse laboratory.
